Please read all about our PE and Sports provision at West Hill and how we are spending the primary school sport funding from the Government in detail by clicking on the link below.
Our income for 2016/17 was £9185
We spent this money in 2015/16 and added to it by employing two specialist PE teachers from Kick London who spend 2 days per week at West Hill. They lead PE lessons as well as team teaching and observing PE lessons so that teachers can develop their own coaching skills through this sharing of good practice.
Our income for 2017/18 is £14553. We are spending this money in exactly the same way but have also employed Fit For Sport for lunchtime and after school sports activities and lunchtime football training with a specialist football coach from Inspire.

Below there is a clickable link for a questionnaire completed by our pupils illustrating the impact this specialist teaching has had on their gymnastic skills and their confidence levels:
In May 2017 we started to run a mile a day, which will help to combat obesity, increase our pupils’ fitness levels, and improve everyone’s concentration and behaviour in class.
We are required to publish how many pupils in Year 6 can:
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- use a range of strokes proficiently
- perform safe self rescue in different water based conditions.
In 2017-18 7 pupils out of 42 in Year 6 can perform these tasks.
