A warm Welcome to The Friends of West Hill Association, shortened to The Friends of West Hill (FOWH) for everyday use! This is West Hill school’s active Parents and Teachers Association.
To advance the education, knowledge and well-being of students attending West Hill School in Wandsworth. FOWH does this by raising funds and awareness of the school through events and activities involving the friends of West Hill.

The FOWH committee meets 3 – 4 times a term depending on the programme of activities and events it is overseeing. There is a chair and vice chair, treasurer and secretary. Sometimes the committee will set up other groups to organise a particular event.

FOWH Coffee Market mornings (8.50 am – 10 am in the Lower Hall):
A great way to meet other parents and carers in an informal setting over a hot drink and biscuits, and also hear about and get involved with FOWH events and activities and share your ideas.
If you have any items you would like to sell at these events e.g. homemade biscuits, savoury food, plants, craft items, jewellery, prints, etc please let us know.

- Lots of stalls, food and drinks. Come and have fun in the sun – we hope!

Christmas Winterlight Fair: We were very fortunate to have a dry day as we hold these events where possible outside. As last year, the Fair was well supported and highlights included; a beautifully presented Santas Grotto, an avenue of twinkling blue lights, some great raffle prizes, Elsa and balloon making!
Summer Fair: Our annual Summer Fair last year was a huge success! Many thanks to all who helped make it such a fabulous event – Parents, staff and pupils! Even the weather couldn’t have been better. Here are some photos that show what a good time was had by all …..!
Past FOWH events have included; Coffee Market Mornings, Cake sales, Summer Fairs, Playground sales, Zoo visits,Classroom end of year parties, a Winter Fair by fairylight, School discos, Jumble Sales, staff and parents quiz!
FOWH raises funds that can be spent on activities, events and equipment that benefit all of the children who attend the school. To date, FOWH has spent it’s funds on a number of items and activities, as follows;
Classroom Christmas parties: And a range of entertainers at Summer and Christmas Winterlight Fairs!
School Scooter Shed: We completed the building of a brand new and bigger Scooter Shed that can be used by all West Hill School children. Look out for the FOWH plaque that is now in place!
Equipment: FOWH has now invested in a range of new equipment for future school events, including; A popcorn machine, new fold down tables, table clothes, gazebos, games and activities
Vauxhall City Farm annual visits: An opportunity to meet farm yard animals up close!

The main object of the Association:
To advance the education, knowledge and well-being of students attending West Hill School in Wandsworth.
To support this object, the Association through its Committee may:-
- Support and develop more extended relationships between the staff, parents, governors and others associated with the school
- Be involved in a wide range of activities which support the school and advance the education of pupils attending it
- Provide and assist in the provision of facilities or items for the benefit, education and well-being of all students who attend the school (not currently provided from statutory funds) as decided by the Committee in consultation and agreement with the Governing Body of the school.
The Association Annual General Meeting (AGM):
This is held during the first half of the autumn term and is chaired by the current Committee Chairperson or in his/her absence, the Vice Chairperson.
Committee membership and Constitution:
The Committee may fill casual vacancies by co-opting new members throughout the year until the next AGM. The Committee has a set of rules and guidelines that it has to work to called a constitution.
Association membership can also include Past Parents, Grandparents, Friends of the School, Ancillary, Staff and Governors.
The FOWH Treasurer is responsible for keeping account of all Association income and expenditure and presents a financial report (verbally or in writing) at all Committee meetings, and a written record of the accounts for approval by the Association members at the AGM.
All Association funds are held by the school and withdrawals can only be made on the signature of any two of the officers of the Association.
The Association’s financial year commences on September 1st.
